Tent of Oliver Foundation Highlights Growing GTA Outreach Program

The Tent of Oliver Foundation is proud to recognize the ongoing work of its GTA Outreach Program, led by Bonnie Hamilton, which provides practical support and compassionate care to individuals experiencing homelessness and hardship across the Greater Toronto Area.
Through the outreach program, volunteers provide hot meals, clothing, footwear, hygiene supplies, blankets, sleeping bags, and other essential items to those in need. A mobile shower unit offers a private and dignified opportunity for individuals to bathe, while additional hygiene stations provide hand care and personal grooming resources for those who may not require a full shower.
The program also operates a clothing distribution area where individuals can select needed items with dignity and choice, creating an experience that feels more like shopping than receiving assistance.
Recent outreach efforts have been supported by friends and family volunteers, members of The Last Reformation community, local food bank partners, and students from Wilfrid Laurier University.
"Every person deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion," said Bonnie Hamilton, GTA Outreach Program Lead. "Sometimes a hot meal, clean clothing, a warm blanket, or simply the opportunity to freshen up can make a meaningful difference in someone's day."
As colder weather approaches, the outreach program is actively seeking donations of:
Men's and women's footwear (particularly running shoes)
New underwear and socks
Sweaters and winter coats
Blankets and sleeping bags
Tents
Reusable shopping bags
The Tent of Oliver Foundation remains committed to supporting initiatives that provide hope, practical assistance, and human connection to vulnerable members of our communities.
