Scholarship Update: 2025 Seneca Polytechnics Award Event & Inaugural Oliver Hamilton Memorial Endowed Electronics Award Recipient

On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, we had the privilege of attending the 2025 Seneca Polytechnic Awards – an evening of recognition and celebration connecting students, faculty and donors. Click here to view an article on the event.

As part of the event, the Tent of Oliver Foundation and the Oliver Hamilton Memorial Endowed Electronics Award were acknowledged. This is the first year that the award was handed out, and its first recipient was Sahil Bista. Sahil just completed his first year in the Electronic Engineering Technician program and he was grateful for the financial support as he pursues a future in communications and automation.

Starting in the 2024/2025 school year, $1,000 will be awarded annually in perpetuity to a student in the Electronics Engineering Technician program who has a minimum GPA of 3.0. The recipient is an international student in need of financial support and has overcome challenges in the pursuit of their education. The recipient is also a team player, hardworking and a problem solver.

This award honours Oliver Hamilton who is remembered for his lifelong passion and expertise in the field of electronics, and his strong advocacy for education and empowerment for the next generation.
