Scholarship Update: 2026 Oliver Hamilton Memorial Scholarship Recipient

At the end of June, we had the privilege of attending the 2026 North Toronto Christian School Grade 12 graduation and handing out the third annual Oliver Hamilton Memorial Scholarship Award.

We are excited to announce that the 2026 recipient is Samuel Barradas-Villegas!

Samuel has been part of NTCS since Junior Kindergarten. Music has always been one of his greatest joys—piano lessons every Thursday since Grade 2 and worship band practices long before he was officially old enough to join. He’s grateful for the musical foundation NTCS afforded him, because it taught him how to glorify God through creativity and discipline.

In high school, Samuel gravitated towards the sciences. He is especially thankful for the math and science teachers who challenged him, stretched him, and shaped the way he thinks. The five courses he took with Ms. Brooks—especially the Earth, Space and Physics classes—inspired him. Those classes didn’t just teach him formulas; they sparked a fascination and passion with how the universe works. This fall, he will be studying physics and astronomy at the University of Waterloo.

We wish Samuel all the very best on his post-secondary studies and future plans, praying that God's richest blessings carry him in all of his academic and life endeavours.

In partnership with North Toronto Christian School, the Oliver Hamilton Memorial Scholarship of $1,000 is awarded annually to a member of the graduating class who demonstrates a life of integrity, principled ambition, and a passion for the sciences.
